What is glith?
glith is an Android home-screen widget that shows a creator's growth as a grid of blocks filling toward a goal. It is made by an independent developer.
Do I need an account?
Yes. Sign-in with Google is required to use glith.
Which channels can I track?
Any public YouTube channel, yours or someone else's. glith's own example is @MrBeast. A channel that hides its subscriber count cannot be tracked, and the app tells you when that is the case.
Is there an iPhone app?
Not yet. iOS is next.
Why is my count rounded?
YouTube publishes subscriber counts rounded to three significant figures. glith shows that number as published.
How often does it update?
The count refreshes automatically several times a day. Opening the app refreshes it too.
Why did my widget grey out?
Android puts apps it has not seen in 90 days to sleep. The widget greys out and updates stop. Opening glith once restores it.
Can I resize it?
Yes. The widget is resizable, and the grid re-tiles to fit its size.
Why does the widget say 1.2K when the app says 1,240?
The widget uses a compact form of the count. The app shows the same number grouped in full. Both come from the same published count.
How do I change my goal?
Open the account menu and set a new goal at any time, using a preset or your own number.
Can I switch channels?
Yes, from the account menu. Switching is limited to three times per hour.
What does Studio add?
Studio adds any block colour with a colour wheel or hex entry, separate colours for blocks and text, any background colour with adjustable opacity, a count label you can show, hide or place above, below, left or right, all four fill directions, and all seven block shapes: square, rounded, circle, diamond, flower, hexagon and star.
What is free?
The free tier has two looks: white blocks on black, or black blocks on white. Both use a label below the grid, bottom-up fill, square blocks and full opacity.
I changed phones. Where is Studio?
Open Studio's screen in the app and use Restore purchases.
What happens if my subscription ends?
The widget returns to the free look, and glith tells you when that happens.
What does glith store?
Your Google account id and email, the YouTube channel you chose to track, your goal, your widget settings, a push-notification token used to refresh the widget, and your Studio purchase state. See the privacy policy for the full list.
How do I delete my account?
Open the account menu and choose delete account. This removes your data.
